Hitchin Assistant Instructors visit International Headquarters

Hitchin Assistant Instructors Garry Huggins, Richard Esson and Lewis Renney visited the International Choi Kwang Do headquarters in Atlanta USA between 20th & 25th of June 2001.

During their visit, they received personal training with Grandmaster Choi himself, spent many hours with Master Marshall Pereira -5th Dan, and also trained alongside Chief Instructors from many other areas including Michigan, Boston and Wales.

On Sat 20th June, Mr Huggins graded for Ee Dan (2nd degree) and Mr Esson graded for Il Dan Red stripe in temperatures that reached 90 degrees.  Mr Renney was unable to grade as it was a black belt grading only.  They both performed extremely well in front of the panel that consisted of Grandmaster Choi (9th Dan), Master Pereira (5th Dan), and four other 3rd Dan's.

They wish to thanks all those that supported them including the UK instructors who were at the grading, the US Instructors and students for their encouragement and those back home in the UK that sent good luck messages.  Most of all, they would like to thank Mr Sparrow, Mrs Wake and the late Mr Peter Wake for their efforts to ensure that they were able to represent Hitchin Choi Kwang Do on an international stage.
